Question
yes i recently asked a question to another expert stating my albino 1 and 11 month year old rat, he isn't eating or drinking or moving much for the past two days and he is usually energetic, i am concerned and he said to take him to a vet, but he said in the meantime get him to drink through a dropper, he is maxed out so i cant ask him, i cant get him to open his mouth, and i don't want hurt him can you tell me how? thanks

Answer
You don't want to force your rat to drink obviously, but if you need to get fluids in him, you can dab the dropper on the end of his mouth/chin and wet his chin a bit to entice him to drink. If he still won't drink, you can very gently place the syringe on the corner of his mouth and push a tiny bit of water into his mouth. You do not want to force water into his mouth because he could inhale rather than swallow and you'd wind up with an even sicker (possibly dead) rat. The advice about taking your rat to the vet was very, very good advice -- get him in to see a doctor ASAP!
