Losing Hair

Dear Sandra,
I recently bought a young male blue rex rat about 6 weeks ago. He was fine until about 2 weeks ago i noticed that his hair was thinning in a straight line in the front of his face. Other than this, he seem fine, as does his cage mate, a young fancy rat.
Should I take him to the vet or put him on any kind of medication?

This is pretty common for a rex coat.  He may make many changes to his fur while he is younger going from wavy to curly, maybe thinning out here, getting thicker there....its random with them.


IS he from a breeder or pet store?  I have a blue male, standard fur. His color is awesome!
