dislocated tail

my rat dislocated its tail and now there is a lump at the base of its tail what should i do to fix it

How did your rat dislocate his tail, what makes you think this  is what occured and what are the other symptoms he has?

He needs a vet.  The rat's tail is an extension of the vertebrae and it contains tendons, blood vessles and boney parts. His tail is there to help regulate body temp as well as balance. Any injury to the rats tail is considered very critical and there is nothing you can do at home. He needs a vet and he needs pain medication.  Again, though, I wonder how this occured and if that is can be wrong in the first place. Please let me know what transpired.
