Lice and now Fleas!

My Rat just resently got treated for lice by the vet and then last week i noticed they came back.  I found out you can buy horse wormer I've been waiting for my check (It comes tommorow) but what about the fleas? I have only seen one or two he just got them

 I haven't heard anything about using horse wormer on a rat and I wouldn't recommend it.  The best product you can buy that will kill all parasites your rat may have is Revolution.  Since you have taken your rat to the vet before you should be able to get it over the counter.  Buy a single tube of the puppy / kitten kind and ask them for a 1cc syringe (no needle) so you can apply it.  If your rat is an adult use 0.15cc, if he is a young adult use 0.1cc, if he is a baby use 0.5cc.  There should be a few applications in the single tube.  Apply it to the skin at the back of his neck and it will kill any and all parasites he has (lice, mites, fleas, etc).  You'll have to do a second application in 2 weeks to get any eggs that may have hatched during this time.  Also, make sure you clean the cage really well to get any that jump off.  Mites jump on and off the rat so it's important to clean the cage at least once between doses.  Mites sometimes come in on the bedding; freezing bedding for 24-72 hours can kill any mites that may be hiding.
