what is the youngest that a rat can breed?my rats are a couple months old.i have two females and one male.they have seperate cages,but they go in each-others cages all the time.

5 weeks and up with the female going into heat every 5 days and it lasts up to 24 hours at a time. Its also dangerous for young females to get pregnant that young, but they can and they do.

How long have you had them?

I would advise you keep the boy away from the girls but it may also be too late. If both girls are pregnant you can end up with 40 new babies between the two girls.
