bump/lump came back...

Hello again
A little while ago I asked about a lump on my new little (well not so little anymore!) rat Wilbur?
well it scabbed over and went away...now it is back.
The other one (there were 2 lumps) never did anything.
but now the one is back and getting a bit bigger.
He is fine otherwise, he will not tolerate a warm compress and I have but some antibiotic cream on it this time.
If it goes away again....will it just return again without antibiotics from a vet? (I hate going to the vet...:(

I would wait and see if it drains or if you squeeze it if there is pus in it. Have you tried to drain it?

It sounds like an abscess though, by your description. They can return again if there is a reason he is getting them, say, from a bite from another rat in the same spot?
