Question
thank u for response. Archie is 1 yr old male/diet 3-4 rat blocks plus raw-oats,fresh vegs and fruit daily. lives by himself and has his bed in an open carrier cage: is free to come onto his chair and area.I use acid free paper for his potty.has been growing obese for last 5 months despite diet restrictions. He had an attack? left him almost incapasitated and refused water/food.today was first avail dt for my vet,who upon exam found lump or mass internal abdomin, but wasnt sure so gave him antibiotics %26 anit-inflm meds, however, though a wonderful vet Im concerned as archie had remarkably gotten back to 70% HIMSELF and since the exam has gone downhill. I had been giving him ricemilk to replace water after 24 hrs of his refusing water and since he was so bloated and no bowel movement gave tiny amnt mineral oil in milk/sugar pls a relaxant med which I know isnt good to do but I feared he would surely die and was desperate to help him. his body seemed to be going through internal  spasims and this drug was for that and he pulled through. Now he is just lying in his bed and although not as bad as before he has gone backwards.I really worry about mega-colon even though the doc didnt mention it. its just kinda wait and see,and let him know if meds help. if he had mega-colon,would the drugs he prescribed make it worse? or just the exam have been to much, he's very a shy boy.what can i do? hes so sweet and doesnt understand why I did this awful thing to him. I was massaging him before the vet, now he wont let me. anything you might offer would be so appreciated.

Answer
That mass should bee checked via an X ray.  We need to know if there is a mass or an intestinal blockage.  Nice Vet or not, too many mistakes were made and now all you can do is speculate.

The doc probably did not mention mega colon because he doesnt know rats can get it. Sad.
The drugs used could make alot of things worse if he has a blockage.  I  strongly suggest a new Vet.
