Bump on my rats belly

I just found a bump on my rats belly, it was about a dime size now it's a little bigger. I took hiM
to the vet and they referred me to an exotic vet,  they have to do surgery to find out forsure but today it looks like it has a bruise on it now and I'm worried they can't see him till tomorrow morning, I have been reading some things and it kind of sounds like an abscess?? If so what if it pops at night and is it ok that he's in what a female rat?

An abscess does NOT need removed through surgery unless it is a tumor that had abscessed.  The way to tell is how fast it came out.  An abscess pops out just as if it was magic, out of nowhere!! It may scab up and thats when you know you will have pus and drainage to get out. Its not usually a serious ordeal at all and sadly many vets will act as if they need to take care of it for you charging you tons of money that is, these days anyhow, hard to come by and held onto for dear life, unless your some big wig celeb in hollywood or Donald Trump!  Anyhow, can you take a photo of it and show me?? DO NOT go to the vet yet until I see the photo of it etc... unless of course you feel it necessary to do so.  This is my opinion only based on the information you have given me.  Below are links to my site so you can read about both tumors and abscesses.
