taming lovebirds

My lovebird is 4-years-old already and it bites quite a bit and sometimes VERY hard. How do I tame it?

Sorry so long been ill off and on.  More on than off at my old age of soon 67 yrs.?

Taming any bird takes alot of time, slow training and tons of Patience.  Talking softly to the bird hourly almost to gain its confidence.  Play a radio all day and night and a night lite for it.  Cover at night with a towel or cloth.

Just keep talking, laying your hand in the cage and do not move it until u feel it is used to it being there, the slowly lift towards the bird, do not back off if it bites, it will quit, no matter how it hurts, do NOT move, it will give up biting when u do not move from it.
