QuestionMy cocktiel's wings are unclipped...I know...and he escaped through my front door 5 days ago. We have located him and tried for two days to get him to fly back down to us. We have his cage, his parent birds, a mirror, and food. He wants to fly to us and has tried 8 times. The problem is he won't fly down low enough to land nor be caught and circles frantically above us until he tires and then lands in another tree. I kow he must be wearing out. What can we do?
AnswerHi,
Unfortunately, a lot of birds get freaked out when they get loose and have a hard time coming back (despite how easy it might seem to us, from our point of view).
Here are some articles with tips for getting your bird back:

I hope this helps! Good Luck!
