I live in Turkey and vets do not know much about parrots. If you need I can send her picture. Thank you

Answer
Hi, Berna.  Thanks for posting.

Sounds like your parrot might have a respiratory problem.  Is there drainage coming from the hostrils?  If your parrot is sick, s/he could deterioriate quickly, so you need to take quick action.  Make sure the parrot drinks water to keep hydrated.  This is very important.  If s/he doesn't drink, you will have to get water into it's body by dripping it from your finger into the side of it's beak, or use a small syringe or eyedropper or something similar, to get water down it's throat.  Keep the parrot warm and away from drafts/blowing air/wind.

Living in Turkey, I don't know if you can order bird medicine from the USA, but here's a website you can order nonprescription antibiotics/other medical products from.  I use this company all the time for my parrots and pigeons and they ship their products quickly, you can order online or call them, etc., depending on how you could pay for what you order.  http://www.globalpigeon.com  This is a pigeon-related website, but the medicine for parrots is the same as for pigeons, humans, etc.  Look through the catalog and choose what you can afford/what you want.  Your parrot probably needs an antibiotic/medicine for respiratory problems in birds.  Some products come in pill form and some come in powder form you mix with water and give as drinking water.  If you get pill form, you would have to crush the pill and mix in food (there are 2 ways, depending on whether you feed seed or soft foods).

Dosage - you would have to adjust the dosage shown on the package depending on how big your parrot is.  Since these products are for pigeons, the dosage shown will be for pigeons.  An average pigeon weighs 1 pound, so figure dosage for your parrot based on this information.

Get back with me if you have questions.  I hope this helps in time.
