RE:Amazon parrot

I recently rescued 2 amazons which i was told they are a breeding pair, The Female was beating on the male so i have separted into different cages, Is this okay to do? I was told they are 10 years old, do they still learn vocabulary at 10? can they be tamed at 10?

Usually when a pair has bonded, they will not really be interested in learning words from humans. It can be harder to teach them if they havent been hand reared as well. If they have been living together a long time, i would try to get them to live in peace rather than seperate them as change can affect birds quite badly. If you really have no option then i guess theres nothing else you can do, but at 10, i doubt that they can ever be fully tamed but it depends on the individual bird. good luck
