n ewly acquired love birds

hi! i am tanu (India) today i was gifted 4 pairs off love birds by a friend. he also gave a bag full of feed (some pellets...) Is there any reliable link on the net where i could get all information regarding love birds. i need to know about what all should be given to them to eat? is it necessary to cover the cage with a cloth at night? what is the optimal temperature for them to live in? here the temperature outside is 40 degree celsius and aroundd 30 indoors. I was told not to keep the cage in a air conditioned room but somewhere where they could get fresh air...is that right? do they need a bath? the guy also told me to put the cage under a light shower every 2-3 days?!? before doing any such thing i wanted to confirrm whether that would be the right thing to do or not.

You will find information on feeding at www.lovebirdsuk.org I have never used a pellet diet, but know other breeders who have fed pellets and had success.

Covering the cage at night is not essential. You do not mention night time minimum temperature but they should be fine given they have plenty of water and fresh fruit. Yes, they like fresh air, but not cold draughts.

A bath or spray are very beneficial.
