type of conure??

I have just gotten a conure from a friend, and she said it was a Nano Conure. I looked it up and did not find anything about Nano Conures.  It also has a band around her ankle, a closed band, and i was curious about looking it up to see if there is some kind of registry...but there is not...how do I figure out what it is for sure...She is green with a lot of aqua through her she has a black head with aqua through it and a tad of red and at the top of her legs shes red, but her tail is black with the aqua through it.. Can you please tell me if this is a Nano Conure?or not?  thank you so much

Hi, Bridget.  Thanks for posting.

No such thing as a nano conure.  Does Nanday conure sound familiar?  Nanday's have orange "socks" on their legs, black head...look them up on the internet.

If you can tell me what exactly it says on your conure's leg band, I can help you figure out if the information on it includes the year of it's birth, who bred it, etc.  Leg banding is a way of identifying birds.  Some leg bands contain the year of their birth, the original breeder, etc.  If you want to try to find out your bird's history, we need the information from the band.  There is no central registry for birds...leg bands are sold by numerous companies/organizations in the USA.  These companies/organizations would keep registries.
