Help with new baby cockatiel

Question
HI. I just got a baby cockatiel that is about 8 weeks old.  I'm a little bit confused as of how I'm supposed to go about with the weaning because I've seen he doesn't get as excited when I'm going to feed him (zupreem embrace hand feeding formula).  He's feeding in the mornings and evenings.  He's not crying out for food and he barely eats 8ccs(last night and this morning only 4ccs)  I've seen him eating his zupreem cockatiel pellets and millet, but I don't know if it's enough.  I'm also giving him vegetables (haven't seen him eating them).   The last time he was weighed was on Saturday and he weighed 91 grams.  Don't really know if this means he doesn't need the formula anymore and I don't know what to do.
Also, I've noticed he spends all of his time on a specific side of the cage.  On the floor and on a low perch.  He doesn't move around much or is very vocal as I've seen other baby cockatiels are.  He spends most of the day grooming.
I've heard other people tell me that their birds get excited when they see them and start chirping to get out of the cage or to feed.  I don't know if he's to young or that I've only been with him for a day and a half, but he doesn't do any of that.
I'm sorry for all the questions I'm just pretty new at this.
I would really appreciate it if you would explain to me what   I should do to get him accustomed to his new home and any suggestions you may have on the weaning process.
Thanks so much

Answer
one of my cockatiels was 8 weeks when I got her and already weaned since he is eating his pellets and millet I really don't think handfeeding formula is necessary. You might add some seeds to the mix to help fatten him up my breeder gives about 2 tbsp of seeds a week. His weight is pretty normal one if my cockatiels that is 5 years old is around that weight cockatiels vary from about 90-120 grams plus or minus a few. Since he is a baby and everything is new he probably staying in one spot to watch everything Daisy my baby stayed on the same perch excpet to eat for several days before she got brave and started moving around her cage and playing. Honestly I don't think you have anything to worry about as you develop a bond your bird will probably be more excited to see you. A well bird visit might be in order jsut to put your mind at ease but it sounds like everything is going great! Hope this puts your mind at ease.
