Question
I bought a 7 year old BFA 2 days ago from a lady.  When I went to go meet Scoobie (the BFA) I held out my hand and said "step up" and he would come to me.  Now I have him at my home and he will not come to me and when he has he bites me, flys off and even sometimes laughs about it.  And the bites are not gentle bites either, he bites me hard.  He loves my 9 year old step son and my 17 year old daughter, just not me.  I give him treats and talk to him and I think he hates me.  I don't know what to do.  Any advice?

Answer
This isn't really uncommon behavior. Initially, when you met the bird, it was secure and comfortable in familiar surroundings, so the generosity of being friendly was easy.
Then, arriving in new surroundings, it doesn't feel so safe or secure and might be thinking you made this all happen.
Don't take it personally. With patience and persistence, you can turn this around in no time.
There's not nearly enough room here to explain all the steps, but I've got it at my page - and it's even called "my bird hates me".

Take a look ok - and then let me know how you're doing.
