lovebird not singing

Hi Maggie,We have a lovebird that has vitamin a deficientcy and is
being treated by a vet.The one thing I would like to know is would
this cause the love bird not to chirp or sing.She has not made a pep
in about a month.

Answer
If your bird is normally vocal, I would consult with your vet about this concern. Sudden changes in volume can be a first indicator of illness.

I hope this helps. And Hopefully it is nothing more than just complicatons from poor nutrition (which if caught early enough can easily be reversed with vitamin injections and a change in diet).
