Question -
My husband just brought home his Goffin Bird. She is 6-7 months old. He did not have the advantage
of bonding with the bird early after it was born. He has only been visiting the bird for about 6 weeks. The people we bought the bird from only feed her formula. When we went to visit on the weekends, we would take scrambled eggs, fruit, veggies and she would nibble on it but not dig in. We have had her home now and she is not eating her seeds nor is she eating people food. also she does is cry, and you try the people food and she just wont eat it. But if you get the formula, she will eat that. What can we do to get her to eat people food? I did take baby food, pureed, and put it in a syringe, and tried to give that to her so she would get use to another taste of food. She did eat about 10cc but then starting biting it. Help....... my husband is getting frustrated. thanks

Answer -
hello,
goffins usually are ready to be weaned at 8-10 weeks. So you have about another week or so of hand-feeding, and after a week or so start offering him seeds or pellets just put a dish in so he can eat when he want but continue hand-feeding him just don't hand-feed him as much like if you hand-feed him two times a day hand feed him only one time a day. And when he gets weaned you can offer him a little people food but don't give him a lot.
I hope this helps you if you have anymore ?S just ask. Also if you can please give me a rating.

Answer
sorry about that, I would have to say she is home sick she misses her old owners the people that had her before you.
or she maybe sick from people food so what you will have to do is only offer her bird food seeds, pellets, veggies. and fresh water she will eat when she is hungry. If she doesn't touch her food within 3 day bring her to the vet.
