my bird seems constipated

Question
I have a yellow-fronted Amazon, and he seems constipated what can I give him to remidy?


Answer
Constipation can be serious and worsen in a matter of hours, causing a life threatening situation.

For the most part it's caused when the bird doesn't get enough fluid intake.  Make sure to offer fresh water and try to increase fruits and vegetables.

There might also be a problem with the liver, kidneys or intestinal disorder/disease.  I always feel it's best to have a check up when something like this happens rather than be stuck in the middle of the night with a companion in severe distress and finding there's nothing I can do.
 Nothing is worse than that.
