Running nose

Question
Hi My baby indian green parrot is having running nose for the past 4 days.It took some ghee items and spicy rice 5 days before.It wants to lick water or liquid items. It closes its eyes very often.Kind suggest any remedy.

hi. thanks for your question.  
i suggest you take this bird to the veterinarian IMMEDIATELY. liquid/runny discharge from nose is almost always a sign of illness and is definitely not normal.  regardless of what your parrot has eaten, wants to eat, or is eating now, he should NOT be exhibiting a runny nose.  the closing of the eyes frequently is even more indicative of illness. this bird needs to go to a vet, preferably an avian vet ASAP!!! untreated illnesses in birds, especially young/baby birds, will result in death.  do not delay.  there is no home remedy that i could suggest as he may need antibiotics. please do not delay.  alicia
