african grey (timeny)

Hi there can I please ask you for some advice, I have owned my African grey parrot for about 8 yrs now, and although he seems to be very healthy and active, he has developed little black spots ( 4 to be precise ) around his body. I can only describe these as what look to like an ink spot, but I know that he has been no where near ink or paint or any type of dye. He still has his appetite,and still drinks plenty of water. Please help me as it is the first time in 8 yrs that these patches have appeared, and I am starting to get worried for him. Many thanks. Nige

Hello Nigel,

I have never heard of something like this and would advise you to have a good avian veterinarian exam them to be safe.  It sounds pretty scary to me, so I urge you to have your baby examined by a vet as soon as possible.
