goffin cockatoo - biting

Question
How do I get my bird to stay away from my husband and one of my sons.  They both are not comfortable with the bird flying to them and therefore raise their arm to the bird.  Zazu (bird) freaks and ends up biting them.  I've had Zazu just over one year and he is 3 1/2 years old now.  He gets lots of loving attention from me, my daughter and my other son.  I would feel much better if I could just keep Zazu from flying to the others.  Hubby is getting pretty mad about it all.  Help!

Answer
Hello Toni and thank you for your post.
It sounds like Zazu is now playing a game.  This is due to the negative reinforcement of your husband and your son.  When Zazu flies to either your husband or your son and they raise their arm to him (which Zazu is now expecting them to do), it is an invitation for him to "play" and bite.
Here is a link that I think will help you out quite a bit.  I used the methods from this site on my own birds, and any birds that come into my home with great success.
