Answer
Dear Louie,

While wild mice are out of my expertise, I did a search on the Internet and I think the mouse you are referring to is the striped field mouse, Latin name:  Apodemus agrarius.  It is actually a wood mouse but isn't called a striped wood mouse.

I did a Google search for you (I hope this isn't your homework) and came up with the following:

From the University of Michigan's Animal Diversity web (http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Apodemus_agrariu...) under Striped Field Mouse I find the following information:

Apodemus agrarius:  striped field mouse

Geographic Range
Apodemus agrarius is found in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Southern Siberia, Manchuria, Korea, Southeastern China and Taiwan.

Habitat (where they live)
Black-striped field mice are commonly found in grassy fields, cultivated areas, rice paddies, woodlands and forests.

Mass (weight)
21.50 g (average)  (3/4 of an ounce!)

Appearance:
The dorsum of these mice is yellow-brown with a prominent black, mid-dorsal stripe. The total length of these animals ranges from 94mm to 116mm, of which 19mm to 21mm are tail. Females have eight nipples (normal for mice).

Mice of this species are capable of breeding throughout the year. Females can produce up to six litters, each of up to six young, annually.

Behavior
The black-striped field mouse is an agile leaper and swimmer. They dig burrows that they inhabit during the nighttime hours. Most individuals live their entire lives and die within 180 meters of their birthplace.

Food Habits
These mice are very adaptable in their dietary habits. They eat roots, grains, seeds, berries nuts and insects.

I do find something fascinating about them:  The pups (baby mice) in one litter can have different fathers!!!  This is very, very unusual. (http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1469-7998.2007.00312.x)

As for what cage to keep them in, I'm sure they would prefer to be out in the wild, but have you caught one?  Any wild mouse can be in an aquarium with a secure but breathable top, but little wild mice are pretty unhappy in captivity.  And do they bite?  Of course.  All mice bite if they are scared, in pain, or in danger.  While tame mice may only nip a bit, wild mice will not hesitate to bite and draw blood, and possibly transmit dangerous diseases or infections.

I hope I have helped out; you can do more of your own research by Googling "striped field mouse."

Squeaks n giggles,

Natasha
