Mouse Ranch?

Question
Hello! One of my adult female mice, Greta, has a swollen rear end, under the tail and including all the 'naughty bits'. Since Greta is an adult and appears to be 'going to the bathroom' without any problem, I am not sure if this is constipation or something entirely different. Also, Greta does not look lethargic or ill - apart from some sneezing for which she is receiving Baytril - and doesn't even seem bothered by the rear swelling, although I am aware that mice have a tendency to hide their illnesses as much as possible. Any ideas? Can a mouse still be having some 'bowel movements' (oh dear, I'm being such a prude) while being constipated? I will be very grateful for any help.

By the way, we are the family that eventually adopted the baby mice that Mary Beth (who wrote to you in late September about constipated mice) rescued and painstakingly raised. Those mice appear to have no health problems at all, and they have grown quickly and are energetic and friendly. So at least we have a happy ending there!

Thanks very much

Ants.

Answer
Dear Ants,

Did you get the wild mice through the Mouse Ranch, run by a guy named something like Horns?  Do you have contact info for this ranch?  Or did you know Mary Beth another way?  I'd love to be in contact with this guy and I can no longer find his website.

Thanks!
