Question
QUESTION: how long would it take to tame a wild mouse?
what is the safest way to keep from.getting Leptospirosis disease when handling a wild mouse??
what kind of bedding can i use from home?
thank u,sam

ANSWER: I understand why you want to tame a wild mouse but I would recommend getting a pet mouse (you may have to tame mice from a pet shop as usually they haven't been handled from birth.)

There are all sorts of diseases you can get from mice by getting bitten, the feces or the mites/fleas carried by mice some potentially lethal (such as the Hantavirus). If you must handle a wild mouse use thick gardening gloves and wear long sleeves.

Handling a wild mouse will be very stressful for him as he will see you as a predator. It would also be cruel to for him to be cooped up for the rest of his life as he knows what its like to run free.

If you decide to adopt pet mice (you will need at least 2) hay, straw, shredded dishcloths, toilet roll, paper towels and old socks all make great nesting material.

QUESTION: HEY PAYNA STRESSFUL FOR HIM???WHAT ABOUT THE HOME OWNER!!!i did not tell it to come here!!!!!
what is the best to kill these mice?

Answer
I misunderstood, I thought you wanted to keep a wild mouse as a pet since you asked about bedding.

Unfortunately there are no humane ways of killing a mouse, poison causes internal bleeding which results in a slow and painful death and traps may cut of a limb rather than the head.

I would recommend a humane mouse trap, they look similar to cat traps only smaller (obviously). You can buy them from most pet stores and are usually very cheap. They work by tempting the mouse in with a tasty tit-bit and as he steps on the peddle to get to the food the door shuts behind him. Make sure to release him at least 2 miles from your home.
