meadow vole

Question
my daughter found a meadow vole today, it has an injured now and we would really like to keep it and take care of it but I'm worried about it being a danger to my dogs.  Do they carry any kind of disease that could harm my shih tzu and yorkie?  We also have a chinchilla, I wouldn't want to see her become ill either.

As long as the vole doesn't bite a dog they should be fine.  As for the chinchilla, to be safe just make sure you wash your hands between holding the pets.  It is a good idea to always wash your hands before and after handling any pet.
