Question
QUESTION: I think that my mouse's back leg is broken. He just drags it behind him when he walks and he has a hard time walking.
I put him in a habit with noting for him to climb on and I wanted to know what I should do and how long it takes for a mouse's bone to heal. I also wanted to know if he will be able to walk again.

ANSWER: Dear Amber,

Please take the mouse to the vet. A broken bone is serious and you don't want the mouse crippled for life.

QUESTION: What if the vet won't take him because he is to small? What should I do then?

Answer
Dear Amber,

You need to find a vet who is experienced in either small furry pets or 'exotic pets.'  You may need to call around to find the right vet.  If you can actually talk to the vet, get their advice on whether it is worth bringing the mouse in, or if they think at this point there is nothing more they would be able to do.

You may just end up with a crippled mouse.  Then you will have to make sure he lives in a situation where he can access food and water.  Give him lots of love and he will be sweeter than other mice.

best of luck,
