Possible Stroke

Question
Hi, we have two mice that we got from the Pet Store about a month ago. We keep them in separate cages, and the male mouse has recently been favoring his left foot to the point of not using it at all, and it seems the mobility of his left hand has been affected to.
We are never rough with our mice and to our knowledge he has not suffered a bad fall.
His appetite is not as great as it used to be but he is still eating and drinking and coming out to play.
Do you think this is a stroke? What are the chances of his improving or regaining use of the leg?

Answer
Is there any possibility he could have injured himself on a toy or wheel in the cage? There is a possibility it could be a stroke, or some other type of neurological damage. How are his eating and drinking habits now? Have they improved at all? If it was indeed a stroke, there is a slight chance he may be able to use his leg again, however it may take some time. You may want to take him into the vet to see if this is the case, or if he may have suffered some other type of injury. Mice can also get brain tumors and seizures, which may be affecting his mobility.
