Mouse Sneezing, nips when tired

Question
QUESTION: My mice (Chocolate) has been sneezing since the last time I cleaned which is 2/27. Every time Chocolate coughs i hear clicking noises.
My two other mouses doesn't seem to be sneezing even though their in the same cage. Right now I'm using pine bedding but I'm going to change to a different bedding. I give them cotton so that they can be warm at night and its 100%. The mouse food I give Chocolate is mixed with sun flower seed, corn, oats, green and brown pallets. There is a mouse wheel and I put pipes for the mice to go in, but some times they chew on it. There is also a salt block.
Chocolate looks like a healthy mouse and bites when she feels threatened. Chocolate is smaller compared to the younger mice that I have. Her fur is mostly smooth and on the tip of her tail it is not that straight like most mouse. And here is a picture of her.

ANSWER: Dear Glydel,

One of my very very best mice ever was named Chocolate, when I was 9 years old, so that was a pleasant memory.  Your Chocolate is a cutie.  The bent tail and small size are perfectly normal.  She was the runt of the litter and will never grow as big as the other mice. I always like the mice who are a little bit different.

But the sneezing could be serious.  Mice develop respiratory infections very easily, and because mice don't show illness until it is pretty advanced, they can't be treated as if they had a cold.  If she is sick she will need antibiotics.

I'm unclear as to whether your cleaning the cage on the 27th was the first time you used pine.  If so, then change the bedding and see if the sneezing stops.

Otherwise she should go to the vet.  Find a vet who does "pocket pets" or "exotics."  If you find more than one, ask how often they see mice. Mice are not like cats and dogs, so they need a special vet.

If a vet visit is completely impossible, let me know and I will try to help.  But she has a far better chance of survival if she goes to the vet. I wish her the best of health and luck.

Last, about the biting, I hope you do not mean she breaks the skin.  If she has a habit of nipping in general, you can very, very gently tap the top of her nose to teach her not to do it.  It does not hurt her, it is kind of an insult.  However, if it only happens when she has a real reason to be scared, then of course it is OK.

QUESTION: The only time I hear her sneeze is when she's near my computer and only once in the cage.
I also can't get to a vet because of my parents.
For the biting it doesn't break the skin and she bites me when I hold her for too long, so then I put her back into her cage.

Answer
Dear Glydel,

She only sneezes when she is near the computer?  Perhaps there is something near the computer that she is allergic to:  something dusty, or an air freshener, or something that was cleaned with a cleaning product... if you hold her for extended periods in other places and she doesn't sneeze, then it sounds like she is OK.  If she sneezes more, though, then write back.

I've had mice who will nip when it's time to go back on the cage too.  That's fine.
