Mice has sore on side of her head

I have 2 female mice, for about a two months now. One of them has developed a large bald or raw spot on the side of her head under her ear and the other female looks like she has some marks on her nose. I'm wondering if it could be mites, or? Their house is a 10 gallon tank with a small plastic house and a plastic quiet wheel and the bedding is care fresh bedding. She is active, happy eating well etc. Thanks very much

Mites sound like a good guess, though I would keep an eye on both just in case they've been fighting.  You can treat for mites using 8-in-1 mite spray (for mice or birds) available at your local pet shop.  Here are instructions on how to use it:  http://en.allexperts.com/q/Mice-3824/2010/3/Itchy-Mouse-treating-mites.htm

Beddings can frequently bring in extra mites, so it's a good idea to freeze it for 24 hours before using it in the cage.
