Questionhow do voles make babies
AnswerDear Isaac,
Voles are rodents, like mice, rats, and hamsters. These animals breed a lot because they have such short lives and so many predators. A male will chase a female until he catches her, then grab her tight around the middle as he mounts her and mates her. He may bite her ear to keep her from getting away.
Voles mate from March through September. 4-6 babies are born and raised in the nest in the grass, and by the time the babies are 6 weeks old they are old enough to mate themselves. This makes a lot of baby voles!
