QuestionDear Natasha,
I'm really worried that my mouse is pregnant! I cant be sure because she doesn't seem to be extremely huge like every website said she would by the 2 week which i cant pretty much estimate she had little contact with a male mouse. but don't get me wrong she is kinda round but could she just be getting fat because she doesn't have a wheel in her cage as of right now... please help!
AnswerDear Amber,
if your mouse had contact with a male and is gaining weight she is probably pregnant. I have had anywhere from one to 18 pups in a litter, so her size may mean a smaller litter.
She needs a wheel. All mice need that exercise and diversion.
Best of luck and have fun with the babies! There are tons of answers about pregnancy and babies in my archives; write back if you can't find answers to questions you may have : ). One important thing to know is to separate the sexes at 4 to 4 1/2 weeks. Otherwise you may end up with even more babies.
Squeaks n giggles,
Natasha
