molting crab

Hi,
I have 2 crabs and 1 is molting. I plan to move him to a 1 gallon plastic tank.
Is it possible to put him in there? I'm going to put some eco earth in there to about 5 inches

It may be possible to carefully and quickly move him to the new tank without any fuss so he doesn't even realize he's being moved... Have the whole tank all the way set up like you want it (make sure to add food and water dishes first too) and then have both tanks open, gently pick him up, transfer, put the lid on and leave him alone, don't bother him further. It should not stress him out too bad, but you want to be VERY careful, stress is deadly.
