Eating and drinking

Question
My guinea pig for the past couple of days has not been eating and drinking very little.  He has been to the vet twice and they gave him three medicines and food I have to feed him mixed with water or an energy drink.  I just have no clue why he isnt eating all of a sudden.  I keep hearing its because you change the food they then resist their food and water.  I started giving him orange peels last week.  I usually just feed him pellets and alfalfa hay.  The vet told me to feed him timothy hay so I went out and bought him that.  He won't eat that also.  I always give him carrots and he doesnt eat them either now.  I have been trying to feed him fruit and vegtables but he will not eat anything.  The only thing he gets in him is the medicine and food I feed him through the medicine tubes.  He is losing weight also.  Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do if he is not eating from me changing his food?  I really want him to get better but I am all out of suggestions.

Answer
Hi Angela.  OK - for starters continue to do whatever the vet says.  Try to get more water in him.  Other than what the vet has recommended, it sounds like you're doing all you can.  Try sprinkling sugar on his favorite treats, see if that entices him or adding sugar to his food that you are feeding.  Sorry I can't be of more help, but without seeing him its hard to tell you what to do to make him better.
Good Luck
