I think my guinea pig had a heart attack...but i dont know.

Question
I was sitting, watching T.V., and i heard sound coming from my guinea pigs cage. He was like, freaking out or something, I could hear is nails scratching the bottom of the cage. He stopped after a about a minute and then he just lay there on his side, panting.He' was moving his head a little bit and he's pushing his face into his bedding and the side of the cage. Then he did it again and hes been laying there panting ever for about an hour. I called a vet and they said to keep him warm but they didnt really help me. If theres anything I can do, I really need to know. Thanks...
Just now, as I was writing this, He got up and turned around and he is standing now but is still in the corner and breathing weird.

Its really hard to say what might be wrong, if anything with your pig. The behaviour you describe is something I have never heard of before.

It certainly sounds like he might have some respiratory problem, but I am only guessing there.

I would advise that you find a vet that specialises in exotic animals and take him to be checked out.

Sorry I can't help further, but its difficult when I can't actually see what happened.
