Question
I have been giving my guinea pig baytril for 3 weeks now for a uti and he has responded well. However today i was giving him some chewable vit c with water and i think he may have breathed some in. He sounds like he has a little water in his lungs (developed after vit c syringe. What can i do ? should i leave him (i will call vets in morning any way) and continue with his batril? he has another weeks supply.

Answer
Hi Christine,
I apoligize that it took me so long to answer your question, my computer crashed, and I wasn't able to fix it until now.
If you haven't already, yes, you do need to contact his vet. He could develope pnemonia from inhaling water into his lungs. The vet will probably want to examine him just to make sure.
I hope this helps, and feel free to contact me if you need anything else!
