hi i have three guinea pigs all female they get along great until yesterday they started fighting and one now has bites taken out her back and was covered in blood im really worried about them and im not sure what to do. the one that was bitten has been acting a little strange also her belly is big and if i touch her belly she bites me and hard any help would be great thank you

Goodness, you do have a problem. Let me ask you this, are you sure you have three females? It sounds like you might have a boar in there and not realize it. If that's the case then the girl with the big belly is not just fat,she's pregnant.

You don't say how long you've had them, but if you've had them less than three months you may have gotten a pregnant female and not known it. Whatever the case is you need to separate the poor girl that's been attacked.

Sometimes a sow will get pms (piggy mean syndrome) when she's in heat. They will often either mount their fellow cage mates or will begin fighting. Get the offender out of the cage. Anytime you have bites and blood you have a serious issue, not just cranky attitudes. She should not be left in the cage to do this again.
