Question
Hi Jess,
I have a syrian dwarf that I named Molly. She had six little ones on Easter! I love her and the babies SO MUCH... I even went out and got another cage so I can seperate the sexes and hopefully, I will be able to take care of them all. I can't part with any! When the boys get older, will they want to mate with Molly, or can she visit with them sometimes?

I also wanted to ask....
but first, let me explain that I have shelves on top of a dresseer and have 2 cages on their own shelf... I have 'critter trail' tubes running from the cages down to an aquarium on a desk for better viewing, and a little change for Molly  (like a playground) and the babies, when they are old enough as well!  Yesterday, I was cleaning out Molly's cage with a big plastic spoon while standing on a stool so I could reach inside and Molly climbed onto the spoon.... figuring she wanted to play, get a treat or some affection, I brought her up and out of top of the cage (critter trail extreme, but I had the petting zone removed for cleaning) and while Molly was still resting on the spoon, I was getting down off of the stool to get her a treat & sit down with her on my bed (that's where I usually bond with her) when suddenfdly, she jumped off the spoon! Jess, it was about a 2 or 3 feet fall to the floor (which is carpeted, but it's indoor-outdoor and not plush and pillowy!).... she seems fine, has been nursing the pups, eating, exploring, but I am worried sick and feel HORRID about it.  Do you think if she damaged anything or was hurt in any way, I would know? She didn't squeak when she landed. I am crying typing this I feel so horrid, but PLEASE tell me if you think she could have been hurt in any way....

Thank you Jess!

Answer
Lu, honey...if she was hurt you would know! She wouldn't be so Happy! She is fine, you are doing a wonderful job taking care of her!! Keep up the good work!!

The babies will try to mate with her, so you will need to keep them separated..good luck
