missing gerbils

i have two gerbils creampuff and gomaz they were my best friends.we went away for the weekend and the cage fell. they're no whare to be seen. im in tears. if i don't get my gerbils back ill be totally depressed.

Hi Sarah,

First, if you have any other animals in the house, such as a cat or dog, put them outside or at a neighbor's house.  And, if there are any wires lying on or close to the floor, place them up higher so the gerbils can't chew on them.  Then, close every door in your home.  Place about a teaspoonfull of their gerbil mix in the center of each room, and maybe a small piece of apple or carrot as well.  Keep checking to see if any of the food has been eaten.  Wherever it has, you'll know which room your gerbils are in, and you can search the room.

Also, you may want to try this method: Gather a bucket, a towel, some books, and a small piece of apple or carrot.  Line the bucket with the towel.  Then, use the books to make a staircase leading up to the top of the bucket.  If this method works, the gerbils will climb into the bucket to get the apple or carrot.
