Neutering

Do I need to get my ferret neutered? Will anything happen to him if I don't? Would he be aggresive towards me when he is in heat? Will he scent mark everything if hes not neutered?  

Answer
It is in the best interest of the ferret to have him neutered. Eventually, he will go into 'rut' and the whole house will smell of him. I have been around whole males in rut and they are stinky!!!!! As for aggression-he may try to take you away with him by grabbing your finger and pulling you to his 'lair'. :-) He is not a cat and will not mark his territory as cats do, but the aroma he will produce, to attract females, is very overpowering.
