possible cold in ferrets

At the same time my son came down with a cold, two of my ferrets started making a noise like they were wheezing. one started a couple of days before the other.  I have placed them in a different room than the others, they are eating and drinking normal.  Although they are sleeping alot.  I am using a product called ferret/rx and a vaporizer.  I took the first one to the local vet who handles ferrets,  he said the lungs sound clear and gave me an antibiotic.  The sound is similiar to the sound you would make if you breathed in through  your mouth with it closed and made a noise in the back of your throat doing so.  I have the feeling that this vet doesn't handle vets very often, and of course the ferret didn't make the noise while there.  I was wondering if there is anything else I should try and how long it will take to get over it.

   I'm sorry to hear about your ferret's illness.  It does sound like they just have a cold but there really isn't anything that can treat them besides an antibiotic.  The only suggestion I can give you is to find a different vet to take them to.  I'm very sorry i couldnt help much but I'm not too familiar with ferret illnesses.
