Answer
Hi Jack,

Congratulations on your new addition to your family! If you have any other questions, please let me know!

First of all, while I'm really glad you are willing to let your little one run around the house, but I would really advise against that, even if it is totally ferret proof. You should really just dedicate a specific room to him and the reason for that is, maybe the house isn't totally ferret proof. There might be the slightest chance that there is a small opening somewhere and your little one could escape. Contrary to what some people say, a ferret would not stand a chance out in the wild. They can't fend for themselves. Another reason you should really just dedicate a room to your fuzzy would be because you would be surprised how much ferrets can get underfoot. There is a real danger that you won't see your ferret and he will get stopped on and I can't tell you how very bad that could be for him. So, please, I beg you, designate an area where your little boy can run around where he doesn't have that danger!!

Ferrets love to bond with their humans! I would suggest spending a lot of time with him! As much as you can, so he can get to know you and love you! Our kids really like it when we get on our hands and knees and chase them and play with them that way. They also like playing tug-o-war with towels. You just have to try and see what makes him happy and involved. Our kids like it when we wrestle with them (with our hands). Like I said, you just have to get to know your little boy and see what he likes!

Anyway, if you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know. Also, don't be afraid of your little guy. Like I said, get to know him and get involved with him! And please, designate an area for him and don't let him run around the entire house!

Sincerely,
Emilee Andrews
