Cant find my ferret!!

I just got my first ferret yesterday he is 3 months old. I fed him a little piece of chocolate/peanut butter cookie not knowing that wasnt good for him. Now we cant find him anywhere. He was fine but when we stopped watching him for 10 minutes he was missing!!!

Oh no I am sorry you lost your ferret!

Ferrets can get into any space their head will fit through. Is your home ferret proofed? Is there any possible way he could get outside?

I would move and flip all furniture since they naturally go to the darkest place they can find. If you have recliners do not let anyone sit in them until you are 100% positive the ferret is not in it.

If you have vents make sure none are loose or have big enough openings that the ferret could have slipped through.

Do you have a dryer? If so if there was any way he could have gotten into the dryer hose he could be outside.

If cracks under the doors are over an inch he could have slipped under a door.

What I did when one of mine went missing is get on your hands and knees and look in the smallest of places. If you have a jingle or squeak toy or treat container he may come to that even though you have only had him 1 day.

Also leave his cage door open in case he gets hungry and decides to find food in the cage.

I would also start printing fliers and putting them up now in case he did somehow manage to get outside.

If/When you find him be sure to never leave him unattended unless in a secure fully ferret proofed room.
