Question
I have three Pomeranians. They range in age from 9yrs to approx.1yr. old. Two males and one female. All are fixed except for one of my males. I have tried EVERYTHING you can possibly think of to get my Poms to quit peeing in the house and nothing has worked. I am at my wits end! Can you please tell me what I can do?

Answer
Hi Valerie,

If your dogs have been using your house as their toilet, you are going to have to quite a lot of management and retraining and you'll probably need to get rid of all the rugs they've peed on.  It's hard to figure out what's going on from your description: is the 1 year old male? Is he the one intact? Or is the older male intact? Is the intact male peeing or marking? Are they all crate trained and have you done a thorough job of house training, meaning they are confined in crates when unsupervised (supervised means  you watch them 100% of the time they are free so that you can catch them before they make mistakes)? Do you have a fenced in yard where you send them out to pee? Do you go with them and treat them for peeing outside? Do you catch them peeing in the house or do you just find it? How well have you cleaned your rugs and all surfaces they've peed on? You'll need an enzymatic cleaner or a good steam clean or new rugs. Not knowing what you've really tried, it's hard to steer you from here.
