Question
In the last 3-4 weeks all sizes of male dogs keep trying to mount my 2yr old caviler king charles they sniff him and lick him and than try and mount him, he is not happy about this and will just try and lay down somtimes rolling over on his back.some of the dogs become aggressive if there are more than one dog around him.He is a very nervous little dog and it has taken us a long time to build his confidence when other dogs are around. I have just started to pick him up when other male dogs get to friendly and over familiar with him.

Answer
You didn't mention if the other dogs are your dogs or someone else's dogs. The problem seems to be with the other dogs being undisciplined. Your King Charles is being submissive and that is normal since dogs try to avoid confrontation with a lot of various body language communications. I'd carry a squirt bottle of water or lemon juice and squirt the other dogs in the face/mouth. You also didn't mention if any of these dogs is neutered. Males will hump other males as a dominance signal, like rams head butting other rams to define territory, female ownership, or herd/pack leader status. Although neutered dogs will continue this for some period after surgery, eventually the hormone levels drop and the drive level ceases. Meanwhile, keep the other dogs at bay so your dog leads a happy life.
