QuestionPumpkin is a female 9 year old Malti-poo. She has a doggy door to an outside fenced area which has worked well for us. We are moving to a condominium where going outside will be a burder. How do we re-train her to pads indoors?????
AnswerFor a dog who's used to going outside, leash walking might be easier. If you must teach her to eliminate inside, I'd use a litter box. The litter has an attractant, and the feel of it is more like outdoors, less like throw-rugs, clothes and bedding. Until she is used to using it, if she must be left alone, it might be a good idea to have her in an x-pen so she is near the box.
