Good Idea or not

We have a 9 mnth old collie. Shes currently in training and doing very well. We started training classes 4 weeks ago and shes pick up on the training very quickly. So to make it more fun and change it up we decided to trick train her as well (she was learning "play dead" last night). I'm not sure if its a good idea to trick train her as well as work on her sit/stays and others along that range. Should we just continue doing what were doing or just work on the basic?

Answer
The trick training should be no problem for your dog. If she ever gets confused on one versus the other, just go back and reinforce the main training and then come back to the trick work after she has the main idea well in hand.

Good for you to look at additional ways for you and your dog to enjoy each other.
