training to find something

i have 6 months old Lab female. how can i train it to find people, lost things etc.

First, make sure that you have off leash control of your dog.  So, a basic class, and maybe a "come when called" class would be a good start.  Scent work is its own specialty.  Here are some sites with links about tracking and trailing:
