Parvo Virus

Hello,
I had a dog die of parvo in may. It has been six months i have a new puppy and she has had her first shots I will be giving her second at nine weeks since she got them at 6 weeks. My last dog did not have his shots and after he passed away i bleached everything and i mean everything. Do you think she will be ok?

I am so sorry to hear that you lost a dog from Parvo. That had to have been very difficult for you.  You are doing exactly what you are suppose to do. By cleaning everything with bleach, you killed the parvo disease that may have been lingering. You also waited six months, and that was a good idea too.  You vaccinated your puppy and that is excellent!  I think you have done everything that can be done and I think your new puppy will be fine. Just make sure to get all her shots and re-vaccinate every year.  I wish you the very best with your new puppy.  I'm so sad that you lost your first pup, but at least it was not in vain. You learned a very hard lesson, and it sounds to me that you are doing all the right things now!
