Underbites?

Question
Hi Heather,  I have a 11 month old puppy/dog (48lbs) that I adopted from an Animal Hospital when she was 9 weeks old.  We are not sure what her breed really is.  They classified her as a Rotweiller(sp)/ Lab Mix.  I see the Rotty in her but she also looks a little like a Jack Russell in the face, kind of like a German Shepherd then also a Lab. She's beautiful and tri-colored, black with white paws, white tip on her tail, white down the center of her face and underneath he neck and her legs are a pretty tan.  She's slim/long and tall like a Lab but she has an "underbite" !!  Sounds like she could be a lot of things doesn't it?  I've seen at least 4 other dogs that look identical to her (two on the "Dog Whisperer".)  I wonder if there is a breed for this description.  Anyway, with her having an underbite, I thought that characteristic may help me determine what she may actually be mixed with.  Therefore my question is can you tell me what dog breeds typically have underbites?  Someone needs to come up with a DNA testing for dogs (smile) !!!

Thanks Heather so much for any help you can give.  I wish I could send a Photo!!

Answer
Hi LaMonica. First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH for adopting! I think that's awesome!! You are more than welcome to send me a picture at LSUTigris@yahoo.com. The most common dogs that have underbites are the "bully breeds". Such as bulldogs, mastiffs, etc. But I have also seen small breeds with underbites. I have also seen labs & golden retrievers with underbites. So unfortunately, there's not really a specific breed that has underbites. If you can, send me a picture & I'll be able to narrow it down. Thanks!
